Free Credit Report
Due to legislation called the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT
Act) consumers can now get a copy of their credit report from each major credit
bureau once a year. Its a good idea to check your credit report to be
able to spot fraudulent credit and correct any other inaccurate information.
To request your reports, go to www.annualcreditreport.com,
which is the only authorized source for consumers
to access their annual credit report online
for free. Or, call 877-322-8228. You'll be able
to order all three credit reports at one time,
or at different times throughout the year. It's
your choice. But, be sure to order from the
centralized agency. If you go directly to the
credit reporting agencies, you may be charged
unless you fit other criteria for a free report
(such as being denied credit).
The credit reports will be mailed to your home with instructions on how to
read the reports. If you need additional help in understanding your credit,
we will be happy to help you.
